BUCKLAND MANOR, near Broadway, Worcestershire

THE PAST:

Buckland Manor was first mentioned in 600 AD, when the land was owned by the Abbey of Gloucester, and later recorded in the Domesday Book. The origins of the house itself are 13th Century. Over hundreds of years, this masterpiece of golden stone, with its generous bays and tall, mullioned windows, was occupied by the Thynne and then the Granville family until, in 1981, it was transformed into a luxury hotel.

THE PRESENT:

Time has touched lightly on the majestic ancient manor house, which basks in peace and tranquillity - but as a hotel, it has not gone unnoticed. Buckland Manor is much-loved and a multi-award winner.

THE PLACE FOR YOU?

Hidden at the heart of the Cotswolds, overlooking the unspoilt, honey-stoned hamlet of Buckland, it is ideal for a romantic getaway, and a good base for a Cotswolds break if you want to avoid the crowds.

The hotel is licensed for civil weddings.
