TOWERS HOTEL STABIAE SORRENTO COAST

THE PAST:

From 1635 until it was demolished in 1930, Portocarello Tower, which was built to defend the town against pirates, stood in this area.
Industrial use of the site where this hotel now stands began in 1898, with the opening of mines to work the chalky stone. In 1935, the mines were incorporated into a large, new industrial site centred around a factory where cement was produced, using the stone. Although at one time employing over 200 people, the business began to fail; it changed hands in 1973, but this brought no improvement and, despite local protests, it closed down a year later. The site was then abandoned to the elements for 25 years.
In 1999, work began on converting it into a unique resort hotel complex. The transformation took four and a half years, and the new hotel opened in 2004.

THE PRESENT:

The Towers Hotel Stabiae Sorrento Coast makes a bold design statement, in modern, minimalist style, that is as breathtaking as the views it commands across the Bay of Naples to Vesuvius. Set in lush grounds, the hotel has a freshwater pool with a terrace, its own private beach and its own pier. The restaurant and its patio have spectacular views, and there’s a large spa offering a comprehensive range of treatments and facilities.

THE PLACE FOR YOU?

Situated on the outskirts of Castellammare di Stabia on Sorrentine peninsula, within easy driving distances of Sorrento, Pompei, Positano and Amalfi, this hotel is conveniently placed for exploring central Italy’s most scenic region, and is also a resort in itself, where stay-put holidaymakers can find everything they would wish for.
